GATORS SET TO OPEN 2013 SEASON
The wait is almost over, football season arrives on Saturday when the Gators open their 107th season of play against the Toledo Rockets at 12:21 p.m. on the SEC Network. The Gators are coming off an 11-2 season in which they shared the SEC East title and reached the Sugar Bowl. Will Muschamp enters his third year as the Gators' head coach with an 18-8 mark.
Toledo finished with a 9-4 mark a year ago, finished 6-2 in the MAC and reached the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl where they fell to Utah of the Pac-12.
Saturday's game is one of just two home games between now and the end of September (9/21 vs. Tennessee).
The Gators have won 23 straight season-openers, the second longest streak in the nation (Nebraska, 27).
