Last Season's Meetings:
When Florida and Mississippi State met in 2013 in Starkville, Mississippi, the Gators took a 1-0 2OT win. Savannah Jordan headed the ball in for her 13th goal of the season.
Florida's Results from Last Weekend:
Last weekend, the Gators opened their road trip Friday with a 1-0 win at No. 9 Texas A&M. The goal came in the 84th minute when Tessa Andujar brought the ball from the touchline to just above the box. She fed the ball to Savannah Jordan who was making an angled run in the box. She took a right-footed shot that got past the goalkeeper and was headed to the far post. Aggie junior defender Karlie Mueller tried to stop the ball, but it clipped off her right foot into the goal. To get the shutout at A&M, the Gators turned in some key defensive plays. Senior goalkeeper Taylor Burke matched her career-high of eight saves
Sunday's match at Arkansas featured the remaining unbeaten league teams, as Florida was 4-0 and the Razorbacks 2-0-2 in league play heading into the match. Florida used goals from three different Gators to take the 3-1 win. Sophomore Liz Slattery scored on a diving header, set up by the short corner kick between senior teammates Annie Speese and Havana Solaun. Jordan upped her season total to nine goals when she touched in the cross with her left foot from Jillian Graff in the 35th minute. The Razorbacks narrowed the lead to a single goal when Ashleigh Ellenwood scored at 61:35. Andujar scored her first goal of the season on a left-footed shot to the upper far corner in the 81st minute to give UF the final margin.
