GAINESVILLE, Florida – Florida travels to Columbia, South Carolina, to face South Carolina for a match airing live on the SEC Network (Gainesville/Ocala Cox cable channel 68 or 1068). The two teams meet Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Eugene E. Stone III Stadium.

Last Season's Meeting:
When the two teams last met in 2013, the Gators suffered their first home league overtime loss since 2004 when then No. 19 South Carolina's Taylor Leach headed in a corner kick to give the Gamecocks a 2-1 2OT win. The Gamecocks scored first off Bay Daniel's header in the 37th minute. Savannah Jordan tied the match with just 31 seconds remaining in the first half, putting in the cross from Havana Solaun.
In Florida's Last Match:
In its only match of last weekend, Florida came back from an early deficit to take a 5-1 win over Mississippi State on Friday, Oct. 10. MSU's Shannen Jainudeen put in the volley off a corner kick at 1:17. Sophomore Savannah Jordan scored the first of her two consecutive goals in the 10th minute off the assist from senior Havana Solaun. She gave UF the go-ahead goal when she touched in the cross from Tessa Andujar in the 65th minute. Andujar scored her second goal in six days (the first goals since her freshman season) at 70:29 off the assist from Meggie Dougherty Howard. Sophomore Brooke Sharp scored her fourth goal of the season at 73:01 off Andujar's second assist of the match. Betsy Middleton upped her season goals total to three with her 22-yard strike in the 84th minute with the assist coming from fellow sophomore Liz Slattery.
South Carolina Soccer in 2014:
In 2013, South Carolina turned in a record of 17-4-2 and advanced to the NCAA Championships' Second Round where it fell 1-0 to Stanford in Los Angeles.
USC has only surrendered only six goals this season and ranks No. 6 in the nation with its .414 goals-against-average (GAA). 2013 and 2011 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Sabrina D'Angelo's GAA of .414 is No. 7 in the nation. Sophomore Sophie Groff leads the Gamecocks with 10 points off of four goals and two assists. South Carolina leads the nation in 2014 for average attendance (3,270 per match).

Florida shared the 2013 Southeastern Conference title with Texas A&M as each team posted 9-2 league records. South Carolina finished third in the SEC with an 8-2-1 record.
