GAINESVILLE, Florida – The University of Florida soccer team will face Kentucky Sunday for a match which will air live on the SEC Network (Gainesville/Ocala Cox cable channel 68 or 1068). Match time is set for 4 p.m. ET at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.

Last Season's Meeting:
Last season, goals from two Gator holding midfielders gave Florida a 3-0 win over then No. 23 Kentucky when the two teams met in Gainesville. Lauren Smith scored twice, both off assists from Havana Solaun. The first came in the seventh minute and the second was a 20-yard, left-footed strike in the 56th minute. In between Lauren Smith's first double-goal match was 21-yard goal from Liz Slattery three-minutes before halftime, set up by the assist from Lauren Silver.
In Florida's Last Match:
Florida is coming off its first league loss of the season, as the Gators lost 3-2 Thursday at South Carolina. The Gamecocks took a 2-0 lead into halftime after goals from Chelsea Drennan and Savannah McCaskill. Senior Havana Solaun scored an unassisted goal at 65:51 and then knotted the match with her goal at 84:41 off the assist from Annie Speese. USC's McCaskill headed in a corner kick in the 89th minute to give the Gamecocks the first win since 2009 for the home team in the regular-season meetings between UF and USC.
Kentucky Soccer in 2014:
In 2013, Kentucky turned in a record of 14-7-1 and advanced to the NCAA Championships' Second Round where it fell 3-0 to eventual NCAA champion UCLA in Los Angeles, California.
The Wildcats are now 7-1 in home action this season after their 3-0 win Friday over Mississippi. Senior Arin Gilliland, a finalist for the 2013 MAC Hermann Trophy, leads the Wildcats with 20 points off of six goals and eight assists. UK goalkeeper Taylor Braum is the current College Sports Madness National Defensive Player of the Week and the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week. She owns a season goals-against-average of 1.05.

Florida shared the 2013 Southeastern Conference title with Texas A&M as each team posted 9-2 league records. Kentucky finished fifth in the SEC with a 7-4 record.

Kentucky – The Wildcats are picked to take fourth in the SEC.

With four matches remaining, Florida and Texas A&M share the SEC lead at 18 points with identical 6-1 league records. Kentucky and Arkansas share fifth with 12 points each.
