
No. 8 Florida Soccer Finishes Regular-Season Road Play at LSU Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Florida - The University of Florida soccer team finishes its 2014 regular-season road schedule Sunday when it meets LSU. Match time is set for 2 p.m. ET at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

Last Season's Meeting:
Last season, Florida took a 3-0 home win versus LSU. Savannah Jordan scored her first of two opening half goals when she connected with Pamela Begič. The ball from Begič found Jordan in the box. Jordan and her defender challenged for the ball but Jordan won the joust to place the ball in from 12 yards. Later in the half, Jordan received the box, took a couple of touches to make space and then placed a low 16-yard shot to the far corner. Annie Speese's free kick from just above the top of the box gave the Gators the final margin.
In Florida's Last Match:
Florida is coming off a 3-1 win over Tennessee Friday at the James G. Pressly Stadium. Tennessee took a 1-0 lead into halftime after senior Hannah Wilkinson scored in the fifth minute. With the Gators outshooting the Vols 22-4, Savannah Jordan finally put the Gators on the board in the 70th minute. She headed in the cross from Lauren Silver to tie the match. Then the Gators were awarded a penalty kick after UT was called for a handball in the box in the 75th minute. Senior Tessa Andujar successfully converted her first collegiate PK attempt to put the Gators ahead. Jordan finished off her third double-goal match of 2014 and the 10th multi-goal match of her career when she put the ball from Meggie Dougherty Howard in with her left foot from six yards in the 84th minute. Jordan now leads the SEC with 29 points and 13 goals.
LSU Soccer in 2014:
LSU opened the month of October with a 2-0 win over Mississippi, but has lost the next five, including a 2-0 decision at Kentucky on Friday. Freshman Jorian Baucom leads the Tigers with 20 points off of eight goals and four assists. She joins defender Jordane Carvery on TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen list as Baucom is No. 11 and Carvery is No. 22.
