GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida football program scored a program record Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 81 in data released from the NCAA on Tuesday, October 28. Since the NCAA began tracking GSR with the incoming freshmen classes from 1995-98, the current score of 81 is the highest in program history.
The NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) is a six-year proportion of student-athletes who graduated versus those who entered Florida on athletics aid. Each team has a yearly calculated GSR based on four (4) years of data. Student-athletes must graduate in order to affect the GSR positively.
Nine Gator athletics programs turned in a rate tied or above the national Division I average and the overall athletics program was one point above the national average. All teams at UF have a GSR at or above 71%.
“Becoming a graduate of the University of Florida is one of our primary missions for our student-athletes. Today's NCAA Graduation Success Rate announcement shows that overall our student-athletes are having success achieving that goal,” said Jeremy Foley, Athletics Director of the University of Florida.
The most recent Graduation Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2004-05 through 2007-08.
