University of Florida quarterback Treon Harris and defensive back Jalen Tabor were named to the 2014 Freshman All-Southeastern Conference Team, announced Thursday by the league office.
Harris has led Florida to three wins and a bowl appearance since he was named the Gators' starting quarterback prior to the Georgia game. For the season, the Miami native has thrown for 896 yards and seven touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 142.36. Harris also has made an impact in the running game, rushing for 297 yards and three touchdowns, including two scores on Nov. 8 at Vanderbilt.
Tabor has appeared in all 11 games for Florida this year and started four times, totaling 28 tackles (19 unassisted) with four tackles-for-loss, two sacks and seven pass breakups. The Washington, D.C., native excelled in the Gators' two trips to the state of Tennessee, recording a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery on Oct. 4 at Tennessee before notching his first career interception on a one-handed catch in Nashville.
