
Kayla Lewis Named SEC Co-Player of the Week

Florida's Kayla Lewis (Decatur, Ga.) was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The Gator junior averaged 16.0 points and 13.5 rebounds, while shooting a 64.7 percent from the floor and 83.3 percent from the free throw line in two games last week.
During Sunday's 86-80 upset win against No. 15/13 Kentucky, Lewis scored 18 points and tied her career-high of 17 rebounds, while dishing a career-high 6 assists.
Her exceptional rebounding effort last week moved her into the top spot among all SEC players for rebounding in league games with 9.5 rebounds per contest.
Other Notables:
· Lewis bettered her season averages in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals last week, when she hit 10-of-12 free throws last week.
· Lewis tallied her eighth consecutive double-figure scoring game, the longest active streak on the team
· Lewis posted double-doubles in both games last week for her sixth and seventh this year
· Led the win against Kentucky, marking the Gator's season sweep over the Wildcats.
Florida (17-7, 7-4 SEC) has a midweek bye before traveling to Athens, where the team plays Georgia on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. ET. ESPNU will televise the game live.
