Head Coach Billy Donovan has been named a finalist for the 2014 Naismath Men's College Coach of the Year award, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Thursday.
Donovan, who was named SEC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, has led the Gators to a current 32-2 record, including becoming the first team in league history to go 18-0 in conference play. Florida is on a program record 26-game winning streak, entering the 2014 NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed after capturing both the SEC regular season and tournament championships.
Joining Donovan on the finalist list for the 2014 Naismath Men's College Coach of the Year are Gregg Marshall of the undefeated Wichita State Shockers, John Beilein of Michigan, Tony Bennett of Virginia and Larry Brown of SMU.
The finalists for the award were determined by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's national voting academy, which based its criteria on the coaches' performances to this point in the 2013-14 men's college basketball season. The Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year will be announced and honored on April 6, 2014 in Dallas.
