
No. 1 Florida Hosts Boston College Tuesday in Nonconference Clash

The No. 1 Gator Softball team will host Boston College in a nonconference matchup Tuesday (March 4) at 6 p.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. The game will be carried live on WGGG (1230 AM), with Mike Gillespie and former Gator All-American Megan Bush on the call.
Gator Bites—Quick Notables
Florida is off to a 21-0 start after four weeks of play… Tuesday's game is the 11th in a 16-game stretch of Gators games within the state of Florida… Senior Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) was announced on Feb. 20 as one of 30 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, which will be presented at the Women's College World Series.
Looking Back at Last Week
The Gators went 5-0 at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, with wins over No. 4/6 Oregon, Fordham, Ohio State, Maryland and Radford… Friday's win over the Ducks marked UF's second extra-inning win of the season, and its second victory over a Top-5 opponent. (Both feats were first accomplished Feb. 8 in Florida's 9-4 [8 innings] win over No. 4/5 Michigan.)… The Gators outscored their five Orlando opponents by a combined margin of 43-4.
Haeger Wins Third SEC Honor in Four Weeks
Lauren Haeger was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday after she hit .412 (7x17) with four home runs, 11 RBI, seven runs scored, and a 1.118 slugging percentage in Florida's five wins at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic. The award marks Haeger's third SEC weekly award of the season; she was named Pitcher of the Week for Week 1 and Player of the Week for Week 2.

Following Tuesday's contest against the Eagles, Florida will open SEC play with a three-game weekend series against Ole Miss to begin the Southeastern Conference slate… The set against the Rebels begins Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. game on Saturday and an 11 a.m. first pitch on Sunday… The finale of the Ole Miss series will air live on SUN Sports.
