Tuesday, March 4, 2014 | Lacrosse
Caroline Fitzgerald has been named the American Lacrosse Conference Rookie of the Week, which was announced by the league office on Tuesday. This is the defender's first weekly honor from the conference.
Fitzgerald had a breakout game for the Gators in their 14-1 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday. Fitzgerald tied a program record of four caused turnovers and also notched a career- and team-high four ground balls. She held Alyssa Cardillo, one of Stony Brook's leading scorers, from taking a shot or tallying an assist.
Florida will wrap up its two-game road trip when it faces No. 12 Loyola on March 4 at 1 p.m.
