
No. 6/7 Gators Host No. 8 FSU in First of Two Midweek Showdowns

Ranked No. 6 in the USA Today/NFCA survey and No. 7 in the ESPN.com / USA Softball poll, the University of Florida softball team will host No. 8 Florida State at 6 p.m. (all times Eastern) Wednesday at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. Live video can be accessed on ESPN3.com; Radio coverage will be available on ESPN 850, with Adam Schick and former Gator All-American Megan Bush on the call. Live stats will be available via Gametracker, which can be found on the schedule page on GatorZone.com. The Gators and Seminoles will meet again next Wednesday (April 9) in Tallahassee.
Gator Bites—Quick Notables
Florida is 31-7 (5-7 SEC), while FSU has a 34-4 record (12-2 ACC)… The Gators are ranked No. 6 in the latest RPI, which was released Monday by the NCAA… Florida is undefeated in 26 games this season against nonconference opponents… The Gators own an 11-game winning streak against the Seminoles, dating back April 5, 2006… Senior Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) was announced on Feb. 20 as one of 30 softball finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, which will be presented at the Women's College World Series.
Looking Back: Tennessee & UCF
Kelsey Stewart (Wichita, Kan.) had a hit in every game (one Wednesday and Friday; two in each game Sunday); she has reached base in all 38 games, setting a UF single-season record for the longest reached-base streak (previous: Michelle Moultrie, 37 games, 2011)… Kirsti Merritt (Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.) hit three home runs in the four games, including her second career multi-homer game in Sunday's first contest (also: March 1 vs. Fordham)… The outfielder also homered in Friday's series opener; before the Tennessee series, she had not hit a home run in 17 games since March 1… Seven different Gators stole a base during the week. Florida improved to 14-3 all-time against UCF with Wednesday's win… Taylore Fuller's (Trenton, Fla.) grand slam at UCF was her second of the season and the team's fifth.
