
UF's Danny Young Named To Watch List For Pitcher Of The Year Award

Florida sophomore left-hander Danny Young (Boca Raton, Fla.) was named to the Watch List for the 2014 Pitcher of the Year Award by The College Baseball Hall of Fame on Friday. The list features 47 of the nation's finest Division I pitchers.
Young has a team-high five victories for the No. 12 Gators and is 5-0 with a 1.80 earned run average in 20 appearances, including five starts. He has recorded 31 strikeouts and issued 12 walks in 35 innings this season. In league action, Young is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA. He has collected a pair of wins over top-ranked Florida State and also defeated UCF, Illinois State and Georgia.
College baseball's version of the Cy Young Award, the Pitcher of the Year Award will be presented in Lubbock, Texas, on June 28 as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions.
