
Diep Earns 2014 All-American Status with Win in NCAA Singles Second Round

Gators men's tennis senior Florent Diep earned 2014 All-American status this afternoon by defeating Virginia Tech's 20th-ranked Amerigo Contini 3-6, 7-6 (1), 6-1 in the NCAA Singles Second Round in Athens, Georgia.
With a three-set victory over Elon's No. 36 Cameron Silverman in the NCAA First Round on Wednesday, No. 51 Diep has tallied two upsets in the NCAA Singles Championship, which includes winning two of three tiebreakers.
Diep notched his 30th singles win, his 13th singles wins over ITA-ranked opponents, of his senior season. The Florida men's tennis program now has 22 All-Americans with 46 honors.
Diep will face Vanderbilt's No. 21 Gonzales Austin in the NCAA Round of 16 tomorrow.
