Nine Gators named to Phil Steele's All-SEC Preseason Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators enter the 2014 season seeking to rebound from a disappointing 2013 campaign. To do so, two players expected to lead the way are defensive end Dante Fowler and cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III.

College football pundit Phil Steele, known for his in-depth analysis and thick preseason guides, considers Fowler and Hargreaves worthy of the challenge.

Steele named both players to his first-team All-SEC Defensive Team, released Friday.

Fowler and Hargreaves lead a contingent of nine UF players on Steele's All-SEC teams.

Kelvin Taylor

Quarterback Jeff Driskel and left tackle D.J. Humphries are on the third-team offense, and running back Kelvin Taylor (photo) and receiver Demarcus Robinson made the fourth team.

Meanwhile, linebacker Antonio Morrison is a fourth-team defensive selection.

Steele envisions strong comeback seasons for punter Kyle Christy and kick returner Andre Debose. He has both players on the All-SEC Special Teams second team.
