
Mary Wise Kicks Off Match Week with Media Monday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida volleyball head coach Mary Wise kicked off UF's season-opening week of play at the Gators' All-Sports Press Conference Monday to preview the 2014 campaign, as well as UF's opening tournament, the Active Ankle Challenge.
The No. 10 Gators welcome Georgia Southern, Idaho and Oklahoma to Gainesville and the Stephen C. O'Connell Center August 29 & 30 for a two-day tournament featuring six games between the quartet of schools.
The Gators finished the 2013 season at 28-4 overall, 16-2 in Southeastern Conference play. Florida finished second in the SEC and made its 23rd consecutive NCAA Tournament. After eclips?ing win No. 700 at UF last season, Wise enters the 2014 campaign with a career record of 795-147 (.844).
Florida has faced Georgia Southern and Oklahoma just twice each all-time, with both matches against the Eagles and Sooners under Wise. The Orange and Blue and the Idaho Vandals will meet for the first time Friday at 7:30 p.m. in UF's opening night match after taking to the court against the Eagles at noon Aug. 29.
