
Lisa Raymond Playing in 25th US Open

It is a special anniversary for Gator great Lisa Raymond as she competes in her 25th career US Open in 2014. Raymond is playing in the ladies' doubles event with fellow USA competitor Vania King.
Fight for Four
Lisa Raymond has earned three US Open doubles titles (2001, 2005 & 2011) and will play for number four this year. She has captured a total of 11 Grand Slam titles in her career: Women's Doubles Titles - 2001, 2005 & 2011 U.S. Open, 2006 French Open, 2001 Wimbledon, 2000 Australian Open; Mixed Doubles Titles – 2003 French Open, 1996 & 2002 U.S. Open, 1999 & 2012 Wimbledon. She spent the majority of the 2001 and 2002 seasons as the No. 1-ranked doubles player in the world and ended the 2012 calendar year as the No. 6-ranked player.
Opening Round Action
Raymond and King will face German duo Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Groenefeld (16) in the first round of the women's doubles event on Wednesday, Aug. 27 following the first two matches played on Court 4 starting at 11 a.m.
Age Is Only a Number
When Raymond paired with Liezel Huber to win the 2011 U.S. Open Women's Doubles crown at the age of 38, she surpassed Billie Jean King as the oldest woman ever to win a Grand Slam doubles championship.
