Two Gators Earn Singles Titles on Final Day of Fab Four

Gator freshman Brooke Austin (Indianapolis, Ind.) earned her first collegiate career singles title and Belinda Woolcock (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) secured a singles final victory on the closing day of the Duke Fab Four Invitational Sunday afternoon.
Austin defeated Florida teammate #51-ranked Kourtney Keegan (Roswell, Ga.), 6-3, 6-1 to win the Blue Draw Singles crown. Woolcock, ranked #89 entering the fall season, defeated Viktoriya Lushkova of Oklahoma State in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Florida rookies Josie Kuhlman (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) and Peggy Porter (Dallas, Texas) placed third and fifth respectively in their singles draws, making for a successful debut in Orange and Blue. Spencer Liang (Potomac, Md.) won her final singles match of the tournament to finish in thirteenth place in the Black Draw.
Brianna Morgan (Beverly Hills, Calif.) paired with Austin to earn a third place finish in doubles play, taking down the doubles duo of Mercer/Mortan from Virginia, 8-7 (4).

“The team played well today. They looked strong both physically and mentally. We still have some work to do, especially in doubles. That always comes along a bit later. We need more reps to learn how to finish our doubles matches.”
