Florida Jumps to No. 2 in Latest ITA Rankings

Skillman, N.J. – The University of Florida women's tennis team hopped one spot to No. 2 in the second round of ITA Division I National Women's Rankings, released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Individually, freshman Brooke Austin's semifinal finishes at both fall national tournaments, the Riviera ITA All-American Championships and the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, launched her to the No. 6 overall spot, the highest ranking for a freshman in the poll. Kuhlman, ranked No. 9, cracked the Top 10 after posting an 18-4 fall singles record.
Junior Brianna Morgan opens the 2015 season ranked No. 11. Sophomore Kourtney Keegan joins her in the Top 30 at No. 26, while freshman Peggy Porter debuts at No. 40 and sophomore Belinda Woolcock rounds out the Gator rankings at No. 43.
Additionally, every Florida doubles team earned a spot in the 2015 opening rankings: No. 7 Austin/Keegan, No. 17 Porter/Kuhlman, No. 25 Morgan/Woolcock, No. 27 Morgan/Austin and No. 47 Keegan/Woolcock.
The No. 3-ranked women's team and No. 13-ranked Florida men's team together represent one of 16 schools with both their men's and women's programs ranked in the Top 25.
The Gators open the 2015 season on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host Elon at 2 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex as part of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
