
Florida Soccer opens spring season Saturday versus FC Bayern Munich

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida soccer team opens its spring season Saturday with an opponent from across the Atlantic Ocean. FC Bayern Munich women's team is coming to the U.S. and their winter camp includes a match versus Florida.
Match time is set for 6 p.m., in the James G. Pressly Stadium. Admission is free.
FC Bayern is preparing for the second half of their season and their trip to the Sunshine State includes a pair of exhibition matches. In addition to Saturday's contest versus the Gators, FC Bayern will meet the U.S. Under-20 National Team at 6 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Orlando.
FC Bayern training sessions in Gainesville are open to the public. All training session will be at the Florida Soccer Practice Field, which is located directly behind the Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

| Fans wanting to watch FC Bayern training sessions can enter Dizney Stadium main gate, walk south behind the stands to access the Florida Soccer Practice Field. Parking in the Phillips Center lot is restricted to UF All Decal parking for the morning training session. Parking restrictions are lifted by 4 p.m. Parking restrictions are lifted on the weekend. | |||
The FC Bayern roster contains a pair of players who have played prior matches at Pressly Stadium. Dagn? Brnyjarsd?ttir, a finalist for the 2014 MAC Hermann Trophy, just finished her collegiate career last month with NCAA champion Florida State. Three-time All-American Katie Stengel from Melbourne, Fla., played for Wake Forest for the 2009-12 seasons.
In 2014, the Gators advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinal Round and finished the season ranked No.7 on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) final poll.
