
Gators Hit the Road for Saturday Meet at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. -- The University of Florida No. 7 men's and No. 8 women's swimming & diving teams travel to Auburn, Ala. to take on the Tigers on Saturday (Jan. 24) at 12 p.m. ET in the James E. Martin Aquatic Center. Auburn boasts two ranked squads, as its men are No. 7 and women sit at No. 10 in the latest CSCAA poll.
Florida's men and women have enjoyed similar success against Auburn, as the men lead the Tigers 25-16 and the Gator women lead AU 21-13 all-time.
Florida's swimming and diving teams last met Auburn a season ago on Jan. 25, 2014, when the Gator men and women bested the Tigers, 180-117 and 173.5-124.5, respectively in Gainesville, Fla. In that meet, UF's women won 12 of 16 events, including a split of the relays and a sweep of the diving events. Meanwhile, the Gator men won 11 events and swept both relays.
Both teams are coming off dual meet wins over Florida State, as the Gators won a combined 19 of 32 events and defeated the Seminoles, 173-126 (men) and 185-115 (women), respectively. Florida's men and women continued its great success over FSU, as the men now lead the Seminoles 54-23-1 and the Gator women lead Florida State 41-3 all-time.

The Florida men's swimming and diving team is No. 7 and the women sits at No. 8 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America rankings, CSCAA officials announced on Dec. 10 and Jan. 15, respectively. Head Coach Gregg Troy's women are 4-2, with SEC victories over Arkansas, LSU and Kentucky. Meanwhile, the men are 4-1, with SEC wins over LSU and Kentucky.
NEXT UP
Florida returns home next weekend to finish off its regular season against Tennessee in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Natatorium on January 31 at 11 a.m. In addition to that meet being senior day, it will be Florida's final meet before the SEC Championships (Feb. 17-21).
