GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators held their annual media day and several members of the team sat down with GatorVision to talk about the 2015-16 season.
Today's special one-on-one interview is with senior guard Carlie Needles

OF NOTE:
· Will be playing collegiately in front of her hometown family and friends for the first time when the Gators participate in a tournament hosted by the University of Colorado, November 27-28, 2015
· Spent the 2015 summer taking classes at UF and working out
· Began pursuing graduate studies during the 2015 summer toward a Master of Science in Management
· Earned her bachelor's degree in Telecommunications - Media and Society in May 2015
· Called by Coach Amanda Butler during the 2014-15 season: the “heart and soul of the team” and its leader
· First Gator from the state of Colorado
· Hometown of Highlands Ranch, which is 16 miles outside of Denver, is 1,453 miles from Gainesville

· Hit a program-record nine three-pointers versus North Florida (Nov. 19, 2012), breaking the 20-year-old record of eight treys set by Bridget Pettis against Georgia on Jan. 20, 1993; her nine three-pointers ranked tied-for-second in SEC history; became only the fifth player in conference history to sink at least nine in a game
· Set UF freshman record for three-pointers made (63) and three-pointers attempted (185) a in a season and ranked No. 4 for minutes played (966)
· Enters 2015-16, 89 three-pointers shy of UF's all-time record of 246 held by Talatha Bingham (1995-99)
· Only second Gator ever to lead team in made 3-pointers in a season three times (also Talatha Bingham in 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99)
· 7 steals against Charleston Southern (Nov. 25, 2014) was tied for No. 7-most all-time in a game

REDSHIRT-JUNIOR YEAR (2014-15):
· Appeared in 28 of 30 games, missing two due to a concussion
· Started every game she played
· Scored in every game she played
· Would have led the league in SEC games free throw percentage (88.5%, 23-26) but did not have enough makes to meet the minimum for the statistical ranking
· Sealed two SEC wins from the free throw line where she hit 4-4 in final 11 seconds at Georgia; and 8-8 in final 73 seconds vs. Arkansas
