Last season's meeting between Florida and MSU:
Last year when the two teams met in Gainesville, Florida came back from an early deficit to take a 5-1 win over Mississippi State. MSU's Shannen Jainudeen put in the volley off a corner kick at 1:17. Savannah Jordan scored the first of her two consecutive goals in the 10th minute. She gave UF the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute. Tessa Andujar scored at 70:29 and Brooke Sharp hit her fourth goal of the season at 73:01. Betsy Middleton scored from distance in the 84th minute to give UF the final margin.
Florida leads the all-time series 13-2-1. Two of the last three meetings in Starkville have gone to overtime, including the Gators taking a 1-0 double overtime win off a Jordan header in 2013. Both losses in the all-time series have come in Starkville (2003, 2011). Florida's 26 corner kicks in the 2013 UF-MSU match set the NCAA record.

Gators Results from Last Weekend:
Florida claimed 2-1 wins in road and home action last weekend. Friday, the Gators came from behind to take a 2-1 win in a weather-delayed match at Tennessee. The Vols scored first when Meghan Flynn hit a 12-yard shot to the upper far corner in the 22nd minute. Florida's first goal started when freshman Rachelle Smith made an evasive move to beat her defender, allowing her to bring the ball deep into the box. Her cross to the far post deflected back to above the six-yard box where Brooke Sharp placed it in at 33:21. A pair of juniors connected to give Florida the final 2-1 margin. Meggie Dougherty Howard received the ball just above the box from Lauren Smith. Dougherty Howard turned toward goal and sent a short left pass to Liz Slattery, who put in a low ball from 14 yards at 41:40.
Back at home on Sunday, Florida used a goal in each half to take a 2-1 win over LSU. Junior Betsy Middleton blasted in an 18-yard shot after Sharp touched it out to her in the 24th minute. Senior Claire Falknor brought the ball down to the top of LSU defensive third, exchanged passes with Savannah Jordan before sending the final pass which Jordan placed in with a right-footed shot. A shutout was denied when the Tigers' Lexi Gibbs scored in 89th minute.
