Riviera/ITA All-American-Day One (Pre-Qualifying)

Gators Gear Up for Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

The University of Florida women's tennis squad is off to sunny Pacific Palisades, California to compete in the 2015 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. All eight players on UF's roster will compete in the All-American in either singles or doubles.
Gator newcomer Anna Danilina will compete in the pre-qualifying rounds of singles and doubles that begin on Saturday. The Moscow, Russia native is the No. 8-seed in the pre-qualifying singles draw. Danilina will compete against Wisconsin's No. 125-ranked, Lauren Chypyha.
In doubles action, Danilina and senior Brianna Morgan drew Lynn Kiro and Sarah Dvorak of Texas Tech in the first round the pre-qualifying draw. The duo must defeat three opponents to reach the qualifying rounds that begin October 6th and 7th.
About the Riviera:
The Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., will serve as the host site for the 2015 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. The national championship, considered the first leg of the collegiate grand slam, is set to begin on Saturday, October 3 with the pre-qualifying singles and doubles matches. Qualifying matches will be played October 6-7 and main draw action is slated to start Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11.
Gators Selected for Riviera/ITA All-American Championships:
· Brooke Austin and Josie Kuhlman received automatic berths into the singles main draw
· Kourtney Keegan, Brianna Morgan and Belinda Woolcock earned spots in the singles qualifying draw
· Anna Danilina received a berth into the singles pre-qualifying draw
· Austin and Keegan received an automatic berth into the doubles main draw
· Peggy Porter and Spencer Liang and Danilina and Morgan earned spots in the doubles prequalifying draw
What's at Stake:
Main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championships, Nov. 12-15 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
