Monday, October 5, 2015 | Football
The University of Florida football team has been named the AutoNation FWAA National Team of the Week, the Football Writers Association of America announced Monday afternoon.
The No. 25-ranked Florida Gators defeated the No. 3-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night, 38-10. UF boasted a 25-0 halftime score and never looked back in the contest.
The Rebels did not have an answer for a Gator team that shined in front of the 90,585 fans that packed the Swamp on Saturday night.
It is the fifth time that the Florida Gators have been honored with the FWAA National Team of the Week award. UF was selected last season after their 38-20 win over the Georgia Bulldogs on November 1st.
Up next, the Gators take on the University of Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on SEC Network.

The honor was originally established as part of the Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll in 2012. Since then, it has been awarded each Monday during the regular season by various committees that have included members of the FWAA All-America Committee, the association's board of directors and its past presidents.
