Gator Baseball Announces Fall Practice Schedule

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida baseball team will open its fall practice sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at McKethan Stadium. The entire squad will have workouts, including scrimmages, between Oct. 13 and Nov. 22.
The team has been conducting individual workouts and conditioning drills since the beginning of the fall semester. Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan begins his ninth season at the helm and is joined by assistant coaches Craig Bell, Brad Weitzel and Lars Davis.
Practices during a typical week will be held starting on Tuesday through Friday afternoons at 2:45 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. The schedule can be subject to change depending on weather or other events held on campus and will be provided on GatorZone each week. The Gators will practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during their first week.

The Gators' 56-game schedule features 33 games within the friendly confines of McKethan Stadium at Perry Field, where the squad is 231-69 (.770) during O'Sullivan's tenure. Florida went 52-18 last season, reached the College World Series for the fourth time in the past six years and ranked third in the final polls after becoming the only program in the country to earn a top-eight national seed for NCAA play for the sixth time in seven years. The Gators claimed the Southeastern Conference Tournament and swept through the Gainesville Regionals and Super Regionals held at McKethan Stadium.
