GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The second-ranked University of Florida men's and 15th-ranked women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Friday, playing host to SEC foe South Carolina inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.
The Florida men and women are coming off their second consecutive long-course (50-meter pool) meet against Georgia on Oct. 30, while both South Carolina squads are coming off their SEC openers against Alabama.
For the Florida women, Friday's meet marks the third opponent on their SEC slate while it will be the men's second chance to compete within the conference.
The Scene
The University of Florida men's and women's swimming and diving teams will welcome in a Top-25 ranked men's team in South Carolina while the women will square away with the 43rd-ranked Gamecocks on Friday at 2 p.m. inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.

Looking Ahead
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Columbus, Ohio, from November 20-22, for a three-day competition at Ohio State. The Gators will swim a mix of long course (50-meter pool) and short course yards (25-yard pool) throughout the weekend.
Scouting the Field: South Carolina
The South Carolina swimming and diving program opened SEC competition Saturday morning, hosting Alabama's men and women. The Crimson Tide, who entered the day ranked 10th for the men and 24th for the women, won both duals. The final men's score was 166-132, and the women's score was 191.5-108.5.
We Meet Again
It's been a few years, but the Gators have familiarity with South Carolina this week, having swam against both the men's and women's programs during the 2012-13 season.
2012-13 Vs. South Carolina:
The University of Florida swimming and diving teams defeated South Carolina in their second dual meet in two days on October 26, in Columba, S.C. Florida's No. 1 ranked men's team won 166-128 and the women's squad took the win, 176-119. It was the Gators' second SEC dual meet of the season as the men improved to 2-0 overall, 2-0 SEC while the women improved to 1-1 overall, 1-1 SEC.
All-Time Series
Both series' between Florida and Georgia go far beyond the 2012-13 season when the men's and women's teams last met in head-to-head duals.
All-time series vs. South Carolina: (M): 25-4, (W): 18-0
Gator Men Ranked No. 2 | Women No. 15
The UF men are ranked first nationally in the third CollegeSwimming.com poll of the 2015- 16 season. The Gator men have a point total of 789.69, and join SEC members Georgia (second), Auburn (seventh), Alabama (10th), Tennessee (12th), South Carolina (17th), Missouri (19th), Texas A&M (20th), and Kentucky (21st). The Gator women came in at No. 15 this week (746.76 points). UF joins SEC foes Georgia (third), Auburn (sixth), Tennessee (ninth), Alabama (14th), Texas A&M (18th), and Missouri (22nd).
Leading The Southeastern Conference
Seven members from both the second-ranked University of Florida men's and 15th-ranked women's swimming and diving teams have combined to lead the Southeastern Conference in 15 separate events (short course yards & diving). In addition, five of those Gator events also hold the fastest times in the country as of Nov. 3 (Complete list on page 6).
New Faces To The Roster
The Gator men welcome nine true freshmen, two redshirt freshman who joined the program last year in January, and two transfers -- one from the University of Virginia, and one from the University of Michigan. On the women's end, Florida welcomes 10 true freshman to the 2015-16 roster.
Swimming To The Postseason
Six men and four women from the University of Florida swim team have combined for 24 NCAA 'B' cut times throughout the 2015-16 season (Complete list on page 7).

Four women and three men have combined for 16 NCAA diving provisional standards throughout the 2015-16 season (Complete list on page 7).
