ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Florida women's tennis team advanced a pair of doubles teams into the semifinals at the 2015 USTA Clay Court Invitational.
In singles action, Josie Kuhlman and Brianna Morgan saw their tournament runs end in the semifinal round of the gold draw. No. 1 overall seed Kuhlman fell to Martina Frantova of NC State, 6-3, 6-4. No. 24-ranked Morgan was defeated by Virginia Tech's Illinca Stoica, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. Spencer Liang fell in a close match to Clemson's Maria Fernanda Navarro of Clemson, 7-6, 6-4.
Advancing to the semifinal round, Kuhlman and Morgan were victorious against FSU's Borthwick and Fanning, 8-5. Georgia's tandem of Brinson and Patterson were defeated by Liang and Peggy Porter, 8-7 (4).
Doubles semifinals action will continue in Orlando tomorrow morning.
