No. 2 Gators Head to Fayetteville, Ames for Final Indoor Tune-Up Before SEC Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The No. 2 Florida Gators will wrap up the 2015 indoor regular-season slate Feb. 13-14 as the Orange and Blue will split for both Tyson Invitational and Iowa State Classic in UF's final tune-up before the 2015 SEC Indoor Championships, slated for Feb. 27-28 at Nutter Field House in Lexington.
Florida's distance crew will head to the Iowa State Classic, while the sprinters, hurdlers and field athletes will all compete at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the Tyson Invite this weekend, marking UF's second time in Fayetteville the last three weeks.
Gator fans will once again be able to keep up with all the track and field action in Fayetteville through SEC Network+, as the network will live stream Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Flotrack ($) will carry a stream of the competition this weekend from the Lied Recreation Center in Ames.
NCAAs will take place March 13-14 back at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE GATORS
Last time out, Florida took a contingent of five athletes to the Virginia Tech Elite Meet last weekend, including four throwers and one distance runner. Senior men's thrower Stipe Zunic, the SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, highlighted the weekend for the Orange and Blue with a new school and Croatian National Record with his 20.61m/67-7.5 toss to win the event. Zunic's mark was a PR, the best mark in the SEC, second in the country and fifth in the world so far this year. Senior Kyle Strawn also notched a PR in the weight throw in Blacksburg with a 20.05m/65-9.5 fifth-place performance. On the women's side, freshman Lloydricia Cameron continued to show improvement with PRs in both the weight throw (17.34m/56-10.75) and shot put (15.74m/51-7.75). Her runner-up finish in the shot put gave her the top mark in the SEC for a freshman and among the top four in the country among first-year T&F student-athletes.
