
J.D. Tomlinson Named SEC Golfer of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A career-best finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational led University of Florida men's golfer J.D. Tomlinson to be named SEC Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Tomlinson, a senior, shot a 3-under 207 during to weekend to tie for second place at the home event on Sunday. The Gainesville local had recorded two ties for third place, most recently at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in October, but Sunday was the first time he saw his name in the runner-up spot. It also marked his third top-10 finish this year.
At the SunTrust Invitational, Tomlinson carded rounds of 67-70-70, finishing one stroke shy of his career-best 54-hole score (206) and two shots off the lead. He totaled a team-best 12 birdies at the event.
The league also named Arkansas' Taylor Moore SEC Golfer of the Week. Moore shot a 3-under 207 at the SunTrust Gator Invitational as well to share second place with Tomlinson.

Follow the Gators: The Gators return to competition on March 6-7, when they take on the field at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate. Hosted by Michigan, the tournament will be played on the Desert Mountain Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.
