
No. 4 Florida Hosts San Diego State Friday in First-Ever Game Between Schools

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4 Gators (2-1) return to action Friday night at Donald R. Dizney Stadium to host San Diego State (0-0) at 6:30 p.m.
The game will be the first meeting between the two schools, as the Aztecs begin a road trip through the Sunshine State with their first stop coming in Gainesville.
Quick Hits
· Florida is 7-0 all-time against teams from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). The last time UF faced a MPSF foe was on May 1, 2014 when UF bested Denver, 19-9, in the NCAA Tournament.
· Sophomore Caroline Fitzgerald was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead Florida to the program's second ever shutout Saturday against Michigan. Senior Shannon Gilroy and redshirt junior Nicole Graziano picked up Honor Roll awards.
· Since falling to No. 2 UNC in the season opener, Florida has bounced back with two wins, outscoring its opponents, 38-8.
· Gilroy needs just 13 goals to pass Kitty Cullen (2010-13) as the programs all-time leading goal scorer. She enters Friday's game with 191 career goals.
· The Gators' 21-0 shutout of Michigan last Saturday was the second-ever shutout in team history, the first coming on March 28, 2012, when UF blanked Fresno State, 29-0.
· In the shutout, junior Mary-Sean Wilcox and freshman Olivia Cole joined forces to blank the Wolverines. The duo combined for eight saves.
· Senior Nora Barry became the fifth Gator to surpass 100 career goals on Saturday. The midfielder enters Friday with five goals and 101 in her career.
· Sophomore Sammi Burgess has rebounded from a zero-goal game against UNC, scoring six goals and dishing out two assists in the last two games. She led the team with five points (three goals, two assists) on Saturday.
· Freshmen Bella O'Connor (three goals) and Allie Pavinelli (one goal, two assists) scored their first-career goals on Saturday against Michigan. Pavinelli has now scored points in consecutive games after notching an assist vs. Jacksonville.
