
Alejandro Tosti Named SEC Freshman of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Recording 11 birdies at the Seminole Intercollegiate over the weekend led University of Florida men's golfer Alejandro Tosti to be named SEC Men's Freshman Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Tosti posted rounds of 73-71-74 at the Seminole Intercollegiate to finish +2 (218) on Sunday. His second-round score of 71 helped the Gators record their best to-par round of the year, a 5-under 283.
Since enrolling at UF in January, he has competed in each of the four spring-season tournaments and totaled 41 birdies. He owns Florida's second-best stroke average, 72.75.
Follow the Gators: The Gators return to competition Friday at the Chris Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
