Florida (28-9/9-6 SEC) enjoyed a 4-0 week, defeating Stetson (22-2) and then taking all three games from No. 21 South Carolina by scores of 14-3, 12-5 and 12-2…The Gators will be away from the friendly confines of McKethan Stadium, where they are 23-3 this year, for their next four games…UF will travel to No. 8 Florida State (26-12/11-7 ACC) for the rubber game of the Sunshine State rivals' three-game series on Tuesday night and face Western Division foe Mississippi State (22-16/6-9 SEC) as part of Super Bulldog Weekend in Starkville…Over their four triumphs last week, the Gators batted .415 (66-for-159), had a slugging percentage of .748 and outscored opponents, 60-12…Florida had 25 extra-base hits (14 homers and 11 doubles), totaled 55 RBI (compared to 10 for opponents) and had 22 walks and 22 strikeouts…The Orange and Blue registered double-digit hits and double-digit runs in every game, notched a perfect fielding percentage and continues to lead the nation with a .985 clip…Sophomore right fielder Ryan Larson (.345, 22 runs, 17 RBI) batted .545 (6-for-11) with five runs last week and went 6-for-9 (.667) in the sweep of the Gamecocks…Freshman catcher/designated hitter JJ Schwarz (.309, 45 RBI, 12 HR) hit .529 (9-for-17) with 15 RBI, 12 runs, seven homers and a slugging percentage of 1.882…Schwarz belted a school-record four homers against Stetson, tying the SEC's single-game mark set in 1982 by Kentucky's Bill Sandry, and established a UF single-game mark with 18 total bases…He hit .364 (4-for-11) with a team-high seven runs, five RBI and three homers during the three wins over the Gamecocks, including a two-homer showing in the finale…Junior shortstop Richie Martin (.312, 37 runs, 25 RBI) went 7-for-14 (.500) last week, highlighted by a career-high six RBI in the Gators' series-clinching victory over South Carolina, junior left fielder Harrison Bader (.347, 42 RBI, 11 HR) had a .474 (9-for-19) average with nine RBI, three homers and three doubles and junior center fielder Buddy Reed (.324, 30 RBI, 30 runs, 13 stolen bases) was 8-for-17 (.471) with eight runs and five RBI…Senior third baseman Josh Tobias continues to lead Florida's offense with a .400 batting average overall and a .390 performance in SEC play…On the mound, freshman RHP Alex Faedo (3-1, 2.12) picked up a pair of wins last week and sophomore RHP Logan Shore is 5-2 with a 2.16 ERA in nine starts…A four-run second inning and a solid SEC debut by Faedo helped the Gators complete the sweep of USC, 12-2, on Sunday afternoon…UF swept the Gamecocks in a regular-season series for just the fifth time in school history and the third time under Kevin O'Sullivan…Faedo (3-1) retired the first 14 batters of the contest before surrendering a fifth-inning double and set career bests and strikeouts (6) and innings pitched (5.2 IP)…Schwarz (2-for-4, three RBI) launched two more homers, giving him seven for the week and a team-leading 12 on the season…Florida batted .400 (44-for-110) over the three games and enjoyed a 38-10 scoring advantage, with eight doubles and seven homers…Martindrove in a career-high six runs, with a two-run single in the second inning that broke a 2-2 tie, a three-run homer in the fourth and an RBI double in the sixth as the Gators clinched the series with an 12-5 win on Saturday night…The Gators have taken the last four regular-season series from the Gamecocks…Sophomore LHP A.J. Puk picked up his team-leading sixth victory with a three-inning relief stint following sophomore RHP Dane Dunning (4-1, 3.19)…UF snapped a 3-3 tie with six runs in the fifth and plated the game's final 11 runs in a 14-3 victory) on Friday night…Every Gator starter contributed at least one hit, with Bader, freshman Christian Hicks and Schwarz each homering…Florida totaled 17 hits on the night, seven for extra bases with four doubles and three round-trippers…Schwarz became the first Gator in school history with four homers in a game and freshman Dalton Guthrie (.321, 35 runs) notched the first two round-trippers of his career as Florida cruised to a 22-2 victory over Stetson by scoring in every inning last Tuesday night...Schwarz (5-for-6) totaled a career-high 10 RBI with a two-run homer in the second inning, a two-run blast in the third inning, a three-run jack in the fourth, a solo big fly in the seventh and a two-run double in the eighth and set a school record with 18 total bases …Guthrie (2-for-7, three runs) led off the Gators' first inning with a homer into the left-field bleachers, the first of his career and the first Gator leadoff dinger since Casey Turgeon went yard on March 5, 2013, at Jacksonville.
