
Haeger, DeWitt Collect SEC Weekly Honors

Birmingham, Ala. – Following a perfect 3-0 week that featured a road win over No. 8 Florida State and two victories over No. 13 Kentucky, two members the University of Florida softball team received recognition from the Southeastern Conference on Monday. Senior Lauren Haeger was named Co-Pitcher of the Week to mark her second league pitching award this season (also: Week 2), while infielder Nicole DeWitt was named Freshman of the Week to represent Florida's third such selection in 2015 (also: Kayli Kvistad, Week 3; Aleshia Ocasio, Week 4).
In addition to tying the Florida and SEC records with her 65th career home run in Sunday's win over Kentucky, Haeger posted a 0.50 ERA and allowed just one run on eight hits with three walks and 11 strikeouts in two complete-game victories.
DeWitt roped two doubles against the Seminoles and added another two-base hit against the Wildcats on Sunday. The USA Softball Junior Women's National Team member ranks sixth on the team in hitting and also leads her class (minimum 1.0 plate appearance per team game).
Haeger's Highlights
*Has won 18 consecutive games to begin the season.
*Earned her third and fourth wins of the year over ranked opponents.
*Has won Game 1 of each of the Gators' five SEC series.
*Has allowed no runs in an outing of 5.0+ innings (or 3.0+ for a five-inning win) nine times this season.
*Has pitched nine complete games in SEC play.
*Now owns two career wins over Kentucky.
*Leads the Gators in all major pitching categories this season, including wins, innings pitched (108.1), ERA (1.10) and strikeouts (132).
DeWitt's Highlights
*Has hit five doubles in nine games dating back to March 28.
*Raised her season doubles total to seven to rank third on the squad.
*Has tallied three three-hit games on the season, which leads the Gators.
*Owns five multi-hit contests.
*Has nine hits in SEC play, which is tied for third on the team.
Florida will conclude its three-game series against Kentucky tonight at 7 p.m. The SEC Network will televise the Gators-Wildcats finale, and the Orange and Blue will host USF on Wednesday before traveling to Georgia for a weekend series against the Bulldogs.
