
Gilroy Named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week for Fourth-Straight Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Florida senior Shannon Gilroy was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week for a fourth-consecutive week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. This is the eighth time this season the senior has earned a BIG EAST weekly award – the most among all conference student-athletes.
The All-American continued to terrorize opposing conference schools this past week, racking up 11 points, eight goals, three assists, five ground balls, eight draw controls and five caused turnovers in the Gators' two wins.
The 2015 Tewaaraton Award Watch List member enters Wednesday's game against Cincinnati with 238 career goals, which ranks 13th all-time in NCAA Division I history.
Gilroy currently leads the nation with 76 point and ranks second with 56 goals. In addition to her goal-scoring prowess, the midfielder has dished out 20 assists this season, tying a career high.
The Gators (11-4, 5-0 BIG EAST) return to action tomorrow at noon against Cincinnati (2-12, 0-4 BIG EAST) at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
