Rising seniors Claire Falknor and Christen Westphal are taking part in a U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp this week in Lakewood Rach, Florida.
The camp will be used as a final evaluation to pick a 20-player roster that will travel to Norway in May to play the U-23 teams from Sweden, Norway and England.
As a junior, Falknor was an All-Southeastern Conference second team selection as a defender. Falknor did play the majority of the season as a center back, but also had a pair of starts at left back. She started every match, playing entirety of 19 matches and led the Gators with her average of 89.0 minutes per match. She provided the assist on Savannah Jordan's game-winning goal versus No. 22 Georgia.
Westphal earned All-SEC first-team for second consecutive year in 2014. She played the entirety of 17 of 23 matches at center back and was second among the Gators with average of 87.3 minutes per match. Westphal also attended U.S. U-23 camps at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California in December of 2013 and May of 2014.
