
D.J. Humphries Drafted No. 24 Overall by Arizona Cardinals

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Former Gator offensive lineman D.J. Humphries was selected 24th overall in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft on Thursday night by the Arizona Cardinals.
Humphries is the 48th Gator drafted all-time in the first round. He becomes the first Gator offensive lineman selected in the first round since Mike Pouncey was the 15th overall pick to the Miami Dolphins in 2011.
"This is a great fit," said NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock following the selection. "[D.J.'s] got the best feet of any offensive tackle in the draft. He can start on the right side or the left. He's an immediate starter."
Arizona has drafted 10 Gators, most recently selecting Johnny Rutledge in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

Draft Notes:
- The Gators have now had five first round draft picks in the last three years.
- UF had two Gators selected in the first round for the second time in the last three years.

- UF has now had at least one offensive lineman picked in each of the last six drafts. Only Alabama has had more among SEC schools.
- Florida's 48 all-time first round picks in school history is the sixth-best total in the nation and second in the SEC (Alabama, 50).

Humphries declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season after playing in 10 games and starting all of the at left tackle. Following the 2012 season, the Union N.C. native was named to the First Team Offense SEC Coaches' All-Freshman (OL) and as a Sporting News Freshman All-American.
