
Kathlyn Medina Announced as Top-10 Finalist for Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Gator Softball shortstop Kathlyn Medina is one of 10 softball finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award, announced Tuesday by Premier Sports Management.
The accolade, which is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, honors senior NCAA student-athletes who serve their communities and utilize their visibility to make a positive impact. Fans are encouraged to vote daily on multiple devices at seniorCLASSaward.com; voting continues through May 11. Fan votes will be combined with selections for media and Division I head coaches to determine the winner. The Senior CLASS Award winner for softball will be announced during the 2015 NCAA Women's College World Series, which runs May 28-June 3 in Oklahoma City.
Medina was named to the 2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll, and played internationally with Mexico last year after helping Florida win its first national championship.
