GREENWOOD, Ind. – For a second-straight year, midfielder Nora Barry has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District® At-Large Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. Barry was named to the NCAA Division I District 4 First Team.
Barry, who graduated in May with honors with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, carried a 3.98 GPA throughout her four years at Florida.
This past season, the Marcellus, New York, native led Florida to BIG EAST regular-season and tournament titles and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Barry was named All-BIG EAST First Team and finished fourth on the team in goals (29), tied for sixth in points (35) and third in draw controls (34).
Additionally, in 2015 she became the fifth Gator in program history to score 100 career goals. Barry was also Florida's nominee for the prestigious McWhorter Award.
Although her collegiate career has come to an end, Barry will be one of 108 athletes trying out for the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team at the end of June. In the fall, she is scheduled to begin her MBA at New York University.
The 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women's At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
