
UF Selected To Host NCAA Baseball Regional; 64-Team Field To Be Announced Monday

HOOVER, Ala. – The University of Florida learned on Sunday night that it was awarded one of 16 NCAA Baseball Regional sites. Four teams will compete at McKethan Stadium in a double-elimination tournament starting on Friday, May 29.
The winner will advance to the best-of-three Super Regional to be held the following weekend at eight different sites. The 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament will be announced live on ESPNU on Monday at 12 p.m.
No. 7 Florida (43-16) advanced to the finals of the SEC Tournament for the second year in a row after winning three straight elimination games over Auburn (11-2), No. 24 Arkansas (10-0 in 7 innings) and No. 1 LSU (2-1).
UF will be hosting NCAA Regional action for the sixth time under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan after emerging victorious four years in a row from 2009-12.
McKethan Stadium has been the site of 12 NCAA Regionals during its existence, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. Prior to the 1999 season, when the current NCAA Super Regional format was introduced, the Orange and Blue advanced to the CWS three times it hosted NCAA play: 1991, 1996 and 1998.
The other 15 schools chosen as host venues include: Cal State Fullerton, Dallas Baptist, Florida State, Houston, Illinois, Louisville, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Missouri State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and Vanderbilt.
Ticket Information
The Gator Ticket Office has been accepting ticket orders via telephone, in-person or on-line only from current baseball season-ticket holders for the 2015 NCAA Gainesville Regional Baseball Tournament since Tuesday, May 19.
People can call the Gator Ticket Office at (352) 375-4683, option 2, or toll free (800) 344-2867, option 2, visit the Gator Ticket Office, located at Gate 1 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, or order online atwww.GatorZone.com/tickets.
Tickets purchased can be printed online for free at the time of purchase or by logging into their account on GatorZone.com. All tickets that are not printed at home will be issued via email. A $5 fee will be added to any order where Will Call is selected as the delivery option.
Re-Claim Deadline Information
Current baseball season-ticket holders will have until Tuesday, May 26, at 5 p.m. to re-claim their current season seats for the Regional tournament. For current season-ticket holders to claim their seats for the tournament, visit www.GatorZone.com/tickets and click on “Manage My Account.” Use your account ID and password to log in. If you do not know your password, click on the “Forgot Password” button and it will be sent to the e-mail address on file. Once in the account, select “View/Pay 2015 NCAA Baseball Regional Invoice” and follow the steps through the checkout process.
Beginning Wednesday, May 27, at 8:30 a.m., all fans can order tickets using the following methods:
- Order online at www.GatorZone.com/tickets, starting Wednesday, May 27, at 8:30 a.m.
- Order by calling one of the Ticket Office Specialists at (352) 375-4683, option 2, or toll free (800) 344-2867, option 2, Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Order by visiting the Gator Ticket Office, located at Gate 1 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Single-game tickets for the NCAA Gainesville Regional will be sold beginning on Thursday, May 28, at 8:30 a.m., and the first 250 University of Florida students will be admitted free to each game.
