GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Southeastern Conference announced an updated scheduling format going forward, with Florida adding Georgia and Vanderbilt along with Kentucky as permanent home-and-home opponents.
In addition to that trio of rivals, Florida will play two other teams in a home-and-home series on a rotating basis. As they have the past three seasons, the Gators will play remaining eight opponents once each, split between home and road games.
This scheduling change renews UF's annual trips to Nashville and Athens, both longstanding traditions for the Gators which had been interrupted under the most recent scheduling format. Florida's annual series with Kentucky remains unchanged under the new format.
The SEC will release the entire conference schedule in August, and the Gators have already announced several non-conference games for 2015-16 with more to follow.
