OMAHA, Neb. – The Gators fell to Virginia, 1-0, in front of 19,544 fans at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha on Monday night. Florida (50-17) returns to action on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. in an elimination contest against Miami (50-16). The fifth meeting of the season between the Gators and Hurricanes will be carried on ESPN.

Postgame Notes:
- Florida's 10-game winning streak came to end and the Gators were shut out for the third time this season (also April 24 by Kentucky, 3-0, & May 7 by Vanderbilt, 2-0).
- UF's total of two hits was its lowest of the season.
- The Gators' suffered their first loss in the NCAA Tournament this year, while UVa improved to 7-0.
- Tonight was the first meeting between Florida and Virginia since the 1989 season. UF leads the all-time series, 4-2.
- Josh Tobias was hit by a pitch in the first inning to reach base for the 29th game in a row.
- A.J. Puk registered his team-leading 100th strikeout in the first inning, becoming the first Gator to hit the century mark since Bryan Augenstein had 105 in 2007.
- Peter Alonso had the Gators' lone hit in the first seven innings, a leadoff single in the second.
- Ryan Larson delivered a base-hit into right center in the eighth inning that gave UF runners on the corners with none out.
- Taylor Lewis and Bobby Poyner each threw 1.1 scoreless innings for the Orange and Blue.
