Wednesday, June 17, 2015 | Men's Basketball
David Lee and Marreese Speights became the seventh and eighth Gators to claim an NBA championship on Tuesday as the Golden State Warriors topped the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. This is the fifth consecutive year a Gator in the NBA has finished the season with a world championship.
Lee proved to be a valuable part of the Warriors rotation in the series, going for 11 points and four rebounds in 13 minutes in Game 3 and nine points and five rebounds in Game 4.
Speights' biggest game came in the Finals opener, totaling eight points and three rebounds.
Speights and Lee mark the fourth time a pair of Gator teammates have won an NBA championship and the first time it has been done with a team other than the Heat.
