Bates, Cameron Highlight UF’s Performances on Day Two at USA Outdoors

EUGENE, Ore. -- Freshman KeAndre Bates made it back-to-back long jump titles for the Gators in Eugene this week by striking gold in the USA Juniors competition with a windy 7.91m/25-11.5, while fellow classmate Lloydricia Cameron captured a third place finish in the juniors shot put (15.44m/50-8) competition to highlight the second day of competition for the Gators at the 2015 USA Outdoor Championships at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene.
Cameron doubled up with a ninth-place finale in the hammer throw (51.61m/169-4), while freshman Darrielle McQueen finished fifth in the women's long jump at 5.93m/19-5.5 to wrap up juniors competition for the Orange and Blue. Also in the field, veteran thrower Fawn Miller tossed a 54.09m/177-5 javelin to finish ninth.
On the track, rising senior Bridgette Owens advanced to semifinals of the 100 hurdles in 12.81 (+2.3), while rising junior Eric Futch advanced in the 400 hurdles with a 49.51.
In the quartermile, Robin Reynolds (52.19) and Najee Glass (45.46) rounded out the evening in 14th and ninth, respectively, in the 400m. Mark Parrish finished the men's steeplechase semis in 9:20.73
A total of 15 Gators will be on the track and in the field on through the span of USA Outdoors and USA Juniors at Hayward Field June 25-28: Ciarra Brewer, Lloydricia Cameron, Kyra Jefferson, Darrielle McQueen, Fawn Miller, Bridgette Owens, Lauren Perry and Robin Reynolds for the ladies, KeAndre Bates, Marquis Dendy, Dedric Dukes, Eric Futch, Najee Glass, AJ McFarland and Mark Parrish on the men's side.
USATF will have all the action live Saturday on USATF.tv, while NBC Sports Network will have live coverage from 4-7 ET.
