Pair of Gator Greats on 2015 WNBA Opening Day Rosters

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida greats Aneika Henry and DeLisha Milton-Jones are on 2015 WNBA Opening Day Rosters, which had to be finalized by 5 p.m. today. Additionally, Gator great Bridget Pettis continues her coaching tenure as an assistant with the Tulsa Shock.

Henry signed a contract on April 23, 2015 with the Atlanta Dream, who also signed Milton-Jones on May 21.

The 6-foot-4 Henry played each of her first three WNBA seasons with Atlanta, while Milton-Jones enters her 17th year in the league and has played with five different teams.

Last season, Henry averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds – the fourth-best average for the Dream – was the team's second-best shot-blocker and appeared in all 34 games for the 2014 Eastern Conference champions.

Born September 11, 1974, Milton-Jones is the oldest player in the WNBA and is just 15 games shy of tying Tina Thompson's all-time record of 496 WNBA games played. The two-time WNBA All-Star is one of just five players who has recorded at least 5,000 points and 2,400 rebounds. Milton-Jones' 2014 WNBA season came to a disappointing end when she tore her Achilles tendon.

The WNBA season begins Friday, June 5, when the Dream open their schedule against the New York Liberty in Madison Square Garden.

Henry and Milton-Jones are two of 18 former Southeastern Conference stars continuing their basketball careers in the WNBA this season.
