U.S. versus Germany – June 30, 2015
The U.S. Women's National Team defeated top-ranked Germany 2-0 Tuesday in Women's World Cup semifinal action. Carli Lloyd successfully converted a penalty kick to put the U.S. on the board in the second half after Germany missed on its penalty kick opportunity earlier. Substitute forward Kelley O'Hara put in a ball from Lloyd in the 84th minute to give the U.S. the final margin. Gator Great Abby Wambach entered the match in the 84th minute, earning her 248th U.S. National Team cap.
The U.S. WNT now will play the winner of Wednesday's other semifinal between defending World Cup champion Japan and England. The Women's World Cup final is set for Sunday at 7 p.m. on FOX.
