
Dalton Guthrie Named To First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman Dalton Guthrie of the Gator baseball team was named to the 2014-15 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. The total gives Florida 36 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll recipients in head coach Kevin O'Sullivan's eight-year tenure.
Each student-athlete must 1) have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship or a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
The SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2014-15 academic calendar.
Named as a Freshman All-American by Baseball America and Louisville Slugger and a member of the SEC's All-Freshman Team, Guthrie hit .287 and started 69 of the Gators' 70 games at second base. The Sarasota, Fla., native scored 55 runs, drew 29 walks totaled 26 RBI, contributed 14 doubles and formed a solid double-play combination with junior shortstop Richie Martin. He is majoring in social & behavioral sciences.
