Florida Volleyball Fan Day Festivities Set for August 22

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida volleyball faithful and the Gainesville community will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the 2015 Gator volleyball squad Saturday, August 22, at Fan Day in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Admission is free and doors open at 1:30 p.m., with the annual Orange and Blue intrasquad scrimmage slated for 2 p.m. Autographs with both head coach Mary Wise and UF's players will follow the scrimmage at approximately 4 p.m.
In addition to the Gators' Orange and Blue scrimmage and autograph session, Alberta will be celebrating her birthday on Aug. 22 at Volleyball Fan Day and all Gator Kids Club members are welcome to join in the fun with games and more in the O'Dome. “We look forward to Fan Day as it marks our first event shared with Gator fans -- some of the best volleyball fans in the country,” Wise remarked. “We're anxious to introduce the 2015 team and know our fans will be even more excited for the season once they see the players in person."
The University Athletic Association will supply 2015 Gator volleyball team posters for coach and athlete autographs; the UAA cannot allow outside items to be brought in to the event due to NCAA compliance issues.
Following the festivities in the O'Dome, all Florida volleyball fans are additionally invited to the Gator Attack Club's First Serve Picnic at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the Women's Club on the University of Florida campus for an opportunity to meet and hear from University of Florida volleyball coaches and players. Interested fans should contact Betty Parrish (tugators@aol.com) no later than August 15 to RSVP and pay ($15 adults, $7 children 10 and under).
