This is the first meeting between the two teams in their 20-plus year histories. Florida is just beginning its 21st season and Ohio State has started its 23 season. The Gators have competed at the Owens Memorial Stadium before, as the 2009 edition of the team competed in NCAA First and Second Round action there. But the two teams did not meet in the course of that action.
This is a trip home for three Gators. The hometowns for three Gators - Claire Falknor (Dayton, Ohio), Liz Slattery (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Christen Westphal (Brecksville, Ohio) – are within a two-hour drive from Columbus.
