GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida soccer finishes nonconference action when it meets Florida International in Miami on Sunday. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the FIU Soccer Stadium.

When these two teams last met:
The two teams did not meet during the 2014 season. In the last meeting in Miami in 2013, four different Gators scored. Then senior Caroline Triglia provided the only goal of the opening half. A trio of then-Florida freshmen scored three goals within a seven-minute span to push the lead to the final margin – Savannah Jordan, Pamela Begič and Meggie Dougherty Howard. It was the first collegiate goals for Begič and Dougherty Howard.
Florida leads the all-time series 7-0.

Gators' in Friday's Action:
Florida responded from a 1-0 halftime deficit to take a 4-1 win over Mississippi at the James G. Pressly Stadium. Senior Christen Westphal put the Gators on the board after just 29 seconds of second-half play for her first goal since 2013. Gator juniors scored the next three goals. Brooke Sharp scored the go-ahead goal in the 78th minute off a four-yard shot for her fourth goal of the last four matches. Then Betsy Middleton headed in a Westphal corner kick in the 82nd minute for her first goal of the season. Jordan scored the Gators' latest regulation goal of 2015 when she put in the ball from seven yards in the 89th minute. It was her eighth goal in eight matches.
About the Panthers:
The Panthers and the Gators have met two common opponents so far in 2015. Both teams lost at Ohio State (UF 1-0 OT; FIU 3-1) and UF won 2-0 at UCF and FIU lost 1-0 to the Knights. The Panthers waited out an hour-plus weather delay Friday, but scored twice in the opening half to take a 2-0 win over California-Irvine. Senior Madlen Weinhardt leads the Panthers in 2015 with eight points off of three goals and two assists, which includes the game-winning goal Friday.
Coach Thomas Chestnutt worked with the Gator soccer team as a student coach from 2001-04 while he was working toward his Ph.D. in environmental engineering at UF.
Preseason Conference Votes:
Florida was second in the 2014 Southeastern Conference final standings with a 9-2 record. FIU was 10th in 2014 Conference USA action with a 3-4-2 record.
Florida – The Gators are picked to win the 2015 Southeastern Conference title.
FIU – The Panthers are picked to finish sixth in C-USA in 2015.
